LCLC trainings are comprehensive and personal.

Unlike other relationship education programs, LCLC programs are designed to surface and deal with real issues couples and individuals struggle with. Because of this, LCLC facilitators must be prepared and supported in handling these issues. Our training programs are designed to do just that.

Facilitators are trained in three phases: preparation, practice and observation/feedback. Completion of each stage of training is built into all LCLC programs.

1. Preparation

To begin the training process each facilitator is provided with a program preparation kit prior to their hands-on training. Upon completion of the readings and activities included in the kit, facilitators are well versed in the information and research LCLC curricula are built upon.

2. Practice

Facilitators are given hands-on practice in leading an LCLC workshop during our practice intensive. These intensives, lead by two expert trainers, focus on group facilitation and curriculum execution. To accommodate a variety of learning styles and to more fully present the materials, practice intensives use a variety of strategies, including presentations, small group discussions and role-playing.

3. Observation and Feedback

In addition to our thorough preparation and practice training, LCLC provides personalized feedback on workshop facilitation during the critical beginning workshops. This ensures early success for both the facilitator and the organization.

“This training was fun, engaging and true joy to participate in. The close and personal daily interactions gave me a strong connection to the research. The LCLC team was great and I look forward to leading the workshops and interacting with LCLC. This is a great program and I am proud to be part of it!”
